We celebrate Kathleen as our Care Pro of the Month for February. She is the “Observant Servant”.
The one word to describe Kathleen would be: ‘Hawkeye’, as she watches and quietly observes her client in their environment. Her daily observations and reporting are very helpful in adjusting client care plans and updating the other Care Pros on the team. Kathleen’s keen observations of clients help to anticipate the needs of a client, which lets us get ahead of things before they become a serious problem. For example, when a client had a fall, Kathleen reviewed steps that could help prevent falls in the future. When noting a client’s resistance to expanding their diet, she thought of ways to help encourage more variety and nutrition. She will often create an activity based on something you have seen or heard.
Kathleen’s observant nature is not only for clients, but also for self-reflection. When she had a health issue, she was very open to describe how it was very challenging but ultimately became a learning opportunity. This experience and new perspective helped Kathleen empathize even more with clients.
