Training starts with orientation to learn all about how to care for an aging adult and their family. We also provide additional class room training centered around Alzheimer's & Dementia to best support those clients with these conditions.
In addition to orientation, all staff receive training in, and must demonstrate mastery of providing care for our aging loved ones. This includes the aging process, safety of caregivers and clients, and how to build a relationship with clients.
Staff receive training for all aspects of their expected role including how to be the eyes and ears for the family of our clients. Specialized care training, such as Alzheimer's care, is taught to ensure a full understanding of the necessary aspects of providing exceptional care for these individuals. For those Care Professionals who work with seniors who have chronic illness, we provide specialized advanced training designed to keep your loved one safe at home.
Home is familiar. Home is comfortable and provides a sense of security. As a senior ages, being in a place that is familiar to continue daily routines is very beneficial, especially for progressive memory conditions like Dementia.
Another benefit of home care is the dedicated CAREGiver providing one-on-one care in a well-known environment. CAREGivers promote independence and companionship while reducing the risk of falls and providing family with peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe.

Coupled with our culture, commitment to our clients and team members, Home Instead Toronto, ON is committed to keeping seniors and people with chronic conditions safe and comfortable in a familiar environment where they can live with dignity as they age. Since 2009, we have been working with Calgary's older adults to help them age in their own homes. With professional support, we have found that seniors are happier and healthier.
Providing care to an aging adult is just as important as supporting the family. Home Instead Toronto, ON understands that caring for an aging adult is a team approach. It requires communication with both the senior and their family.
We understand that you want to know your loved one is receiving the best care. That's why we use an online website where you can view the shift notes from each shift to see exactly how your loved one is doing each day.
