Lakelyn Eichenberger, Home Instead gerontologist and caregiver advocate, was recently interviewed by MarketWatch magazine about the current demand for in-home care and the perception of a caregiver shortage.
Eichenberger noted that while finding care for loved ones has become easier since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, being flexible and scheduling during off-peak times helps get a caregiver in the home quicker.
“If you can be flexible on the time of day when the patient needs help, that can make it easier to find someone” she said.
