Shannondell began working with Home Instead earlier this year and we saw something quite special in her work with our clients. They instantly gain a friend and an advocate. Shannondell is attentive to their needs, encouraging them to do things they hesitate to do, like attending Comic-Con with them because it is something they truly want to do. It’s heartwarming to hear clients ask, “When is Shannondell coming back?”.
She observes barriers, placing careful thought into how those barriers can be overcome. Through communication, suggestions, and reports, it’s evident that she truly wants the best for her clients. She notices the little things that matter to families, like—are Mom’s clothes holding up? Does she have a supply of her favorite sweets and toiletries? These reports enable us to pass information along to family, easing their concerns. And this is truly what Home Instead is about, enhancing the lives of older adults and their families.
