Starr H is our Care Pro of the month for April!
Starr joined Home Instead in August of 2022. The whole Admin Team came up with the same words to describe the way she interacts with clients: confident with a calm, peaceful, gentle, loving presence.
Client Care Coordinator Rita expressed what a pleasure it was to introduce Starr and observe her building a bond with Maureen right away. When we called to check in with her, Maureen said, ”I want you to know that Lady that you sent me, I really enjoy her. She helps me to feel so much better when I am feeling down. She is so easy to talk to and I really look forward to her coming.”
Client Service Coordinator Helen reflected on a time she introduced Starr to Sharon and Walt. As Sharon neared end of life and was admitted to hospital, Walt was completely lost as he always looked to Sharon to assist him through his days living with dementia. As I introduced Starr, Walt came into the room and stood right up alongside her, like he trusted her instantly to direct him. Their son David looked completely stressed saying he had a problem at the farm and needed to rush away in order to get back in time. Starr instructed him gently not to worry, DON’T SPEEED, and that she will make it work and be here with his dad until he could get back. His sigh of relief said it all: Starr’s presence gave real peace of mind for an only child trying to do it all.
Starr has become that trusted friend to many of her clients. Harriet and Enid were both resistant to having help. Starr gained their trust right away which enabled service to continue.
Always willing to serve where she is needed, Starr accepts that there can be scheduling changes from time to time to serve our new clients.
We see how dedicated Starr is to the clients she serves and we appreciate all that she does for them.
