At Home Instead we believe that the right people join our team at just the right time. This was certainly the case with Maria in January of 2022. Norma needed a Care Pro to join her team who could serve overnights and who would have an understanding of her mental health needs. Norma needed constant one on one attention in her long term care home which included daily overnight care. Maria made it work with her family to offer two overnights every week for Norma’s care. Thank you.
Nine years ago, you saw our office at Market Mall, and your heart was set on working with Home Instead ever since. Along with raising your family, you went on an educational journey in mental health and addictions to improve your skills as a Care Professional. This training was precisely what one of our clients needed. We are thrilled this finally happened after years of wanting to join our team. We now have the benefit of not only your wisdom and experience but your authenticity and joy.
We could go on about your qualities as a mother of six and someone passionate about working with people who need help: you are compassionate, sincere, intelligent and direct. You are determined and nurturing, respectful and resourceful, expressive and open. It was a lovely story you shared with us about what a client said to you recently. Norma whom you have faithfully served since January, took you by surprise with her expression of gratitude - she let you know she appreciates your understanding of her disability and your patience with her and your sincere empathy. We agree! Your work with Norma is incredibly generous and kind.
As a Care Pro, you bring your whole self into your work, connecting with people and relating to them so they truly feel understood and well cared for. In the office, we appreciate your responsiveness when we communicate with you. We know you follow through on your commitments and improve yourself through online learning. We will never forget how you turned up to a volunteer company event at noon after serving Norma for an overnight. Your support for our Company and the events we support is outstanding.
Maria, we appreciate you. We (Karen and Greg) enjoyed our time with you during the Alzheimer’s Walk, learning more about you and your family. You are a wonderful human being, and we are thankful that you are sharing your gifts and talents as a Care Professional with Home Instead.
