We are happy to announce Kendall as our the Care Pro of the month for June!
Kendall, began working for Home Instead a mere 6 months ago and we have noticed her superb work. During this time, Kendall has found a balance between working with younger and older people, demonstrating her desire to work with seniors alongside her work in a daycare. One of the first things we noticed about Kendall was her positive attitude toward learning. This has made it easy to place her with different clients living with a variety of needs. Kendall is always ready and willing to absorb new learning or to engage in a new challenge, be it serving clients who need personal care or serving clients requiring bedside comfort care at end of life.
When she arrives at her client’s home, she comes prepared, asks good questions, get her bearings and then…off she goes, just doing what she does. And what is it that she does so well? Well, for one, Kendall tunes into the client. She takes the time to get to know them, what their interests and passions are and what brings them joy. Once she has done that, shes immerse herself in activities with them. Maybe it’s gardening with them because she knows this is their happy place, so the two of you are out there, in the heat, making the yard a tranquil space for your client. Of course, her Care Pro knowledge kicks in when she discusses with her, the importance of drinking fluids in the heat and then she makes sure she’s abiding. Or maybe it’s singing to a client because this not only makes her smile but helps her to eat better. Perhaps it’s the willingness to learn to cook and voicing this to the client so he lets her prepare a meal for him, which she understands is partly why we’re there. It could be just taking a few minutes to watch a client’s favorite show with her, laughing and enjoying the company of one another. Whatever Kendall partakes in with clients, she ensures that joy, and a sense of purpose are experienced. We see this is sedulously fostered. Along with all of this, with each client visit, Kendall also shares her calm and gentle spirit, helping others to feel relaxed and comfortable. While we are privy to the wonderful work Kendall does with clients, we also appreciate her exceptional communication with our office. She is quick to reply to emails and this helps us to know that last-minute information has been received. She understands the importance of teamwork and how this helps provide quality care to seniors.
Kendall, thank you for putting your all into your visits with clients, for going that extra mile and for singing to clients, even when you aren’t sure if you were meant to be a singer. It all matters and you are out there just doing what you do. We’ve observed that what you do is exactly what elders need and you do it so very well. Congratulations, Kendall!
