Amanda joined our team in October of 2021; in these last 8 months she has made an amazing impact in many family’s lives working over 600 hours and serving 11 clients.
Amanda, you are dependable, an excellent communicator and are always well prepared for your shifts. You are gentle yet assertive, calm and reassuring and you help make people feel safe and well cared for. You thrive when working with clients who require specialized care.
Working with Mrs. B took a very gentle and adaptable approach. We knew you were the right fit when we received high praise from Mrs. B’s daughter who noted you were a great addition to the team and that you were absolutely wonderful with her Mom.
Ms. K is a young client with delicate behavioural needs. Being non-verbal, you sought to find ways to connect and communicate, embracing the shared team reports and using the suggested picture card idea. You carefully cut and laminated each picture, creating a transportable communication board. We love to read your reports as you connect with her.
Amanda we appreciate your huge heart and the genuine concern you show your clients as you seek to ensure the best client experience and support families. After you completed your Dementia Care training you were incredibly excited with the new tools you learned as you saw the overlap between older adults living with Alzheimer’s and dementia and younger individuals living with special needs - you started to plan and implement that knowledge with all of your clients.
