When Home Instead considers hiring a new Care Professional there is a strong sense that, if the right person comes along, even if it may take longer than usual to bring them onto the team, it is usually a good idea to let the process unfold.
A fair amount of time passed between your first conversation with the office and when you attended orientation. However, we took a vote and it was unanimous: you were definitely worth the wait!
You brought a career’s worth of experience managing and motivating people and stepped right into the role of Care Pro seamlessly. Your professionalism, positive energy, and outgoing personality reflect a deep stability and reliability for clients who depend on you. You managed to make the whole process look easy.
You are a pleasure to introduce, and it is a joy to watch you put your client at ease and then “take over” in the best way possible! You have studied the care plan and you are well prepared to connect with the client and take initiative. Approaching the client with confidence is a gift to them which puts them at ease.
Clients also benefit from your creativity and background in recreation as you develop ways to encourage engagement and activity. Who knew that Molly would love “ascending Mount Everest” right from the comfort of her own home? She enjoys the visual representation of the walking segments and being able to see her progress. You take a genuine interest in your clients and know how to motivate them and ensure that they have a positive experience each time you visit.
Back to the reason for the delay in joining the team, you spent time with a dear friend doing “bucket list” activities after her diagnosis. You kept your word that, after the travels were done, you would become a Care Pro with Home Instead. We are very glad that you did. It was in these actions - committing to travel with your friend and then following through – which endeared you to us right from the start.
