We are so excited to honor you as CAREGiver of the month for August!
Kathleen, you began with Home Instead 1 year ago and so far, have worked 765 hours with 9 different clients. After a short two months, you began working 5 shifts per week with a client who is living with dementia. Although that was a tall order, you embraced the challenge and were one of the first to form a strong connection with him. This situation was a little different for Home Instead, and yet, you supported this new role, immersing yourself in his story. This helped to build trust and a relationship with him. All these months later, this family still appreciates your time and effort with their father as you have helped to allow him to continue to do what he loves-work!
Kathleen, we have seen what you are capable of. We appreciate your prompt communication with the office, always answering emails and calls in a timely manner. Your communication with clients is noticed through the reports along with client and family feedback. You have a kind, gentle demeanor that helps our clients to feel safe and nurtured. You are involved in client care, some of which happens to have very detailed care plans and you have adapted to this while continuously working to uphold the standard of expected care. When unsure, you contact us for instruction or training. We have seen you figure things out to solve problems. We’ve also gotten to see your video-making skills!
As a student, you have found a balance to educating yourself while continuing to work--- And all this, through a pandemic. You remain flexible and are able to learn and grow as we continue to navigate through this together. It’s always such a delight to introduce you to a new client. You are prepared and confident, warm, and sincere, and this translates when meeting a new client and family.
Kathleen, not everyone is cut out to do the work we do, but you, most definitely are. You have that giving spirit and thoughtful presence, that makes others feel comfortable and in that you are able to provide that one-on-one care so many seniors need and long for. For all these reasons and so much more, today we celebrate you, for your dedication to providing the best care possible to our clients. We are proud to have you as part of the Home Instead team and look forward to watching you continue to blossom with each client you visit.
