Sandy is our December 2020 CAREGiver of the month. Sandy displays a heart for caring for seniors and has an attitude of willingness to serve where she is needed most. She has an ability to connect with people living with advancing dementia.
Some people living with dementia do not want to shower and one of your clients, we will call Ella, was struggling with that and other things too. Her caregivers had to carefully plan accomplishing household tasks while Ella was at her hair appointment. They hurried to wash her clothes, change her bedding, and clean her bathroom and anything else you could squeeze in that short time.
Sandy when you started seeing Ella you got her in the shower on your third visit, as well as helped her talk about her incontinence and manage it better. We see that you show people your heartfelt kindness and respect. And with Ella you were on a mission to make her life better in every way possible in such a tender way that she responded to you with acceptance.
For your skilled work with those living with dementia, those who have had to isolate due to COVID quarantine and others who are receiving palliative care we thank you for making an impact on many of our client's lives during the pandemic. Your generosity, compassion and thoughtfulness are appreciated and celebrated!
