Overnight Caregiving

Care can be as simple as your individual situation requires. Some families just need a capable person to take over for a few hours each week, so they have more time in their day. For other families, overnight assistance helps them get that precious shut-eye.

No two situations are the same, but a Home Instead Senior Care Specialist can talk to you about what’s most important to you and can develop a solution and plan that meets your needs.

Let’s talk about sleep! What are the benefits of sleep?

  • Sleep Can Boost Your Immune System
  • Gaining Zzz's Can Help Prevent Weight Gain
  • Sleep Can Strengthen Your Heart
  • Better Sleep = Better Mood
  • Sleeping Can Increase Productivity
  • Lack of Sleep Can Be Dangerous
  • Sleep Can Increase Exercise Performance
  • Sleep Improves Memory.

Sleep is as important for good health as diet and exercise. Good sleep improves your brain performance, mood, and health. Not getting enough quality sleep regularly raises the risk of many diseases and disorders. These range from heart disease and stroke to obesity and dementia. At Home Instead, our Care Professionals can help you get the valuable sleep you need so you can be your best during the day! Often families struggle with understanding why a Care Professional at night may be their answer. When our staff are there, they are ALWAYS awake to respond to any need your loved one may have. They do NOT sleep or “rest” on their shifts. It may be as simple as taking them to the bathroom, redirecting them to what time it actually is and tucking them back into bed. For some it’s a glass of milk and a cookie and then back to bed. Instead of you worrying what they are doing at night, or them waking you for assistance, you can trust that a Care Professional is there to help them stay safe and well taken care of. We can also help with tasks such as laundry, cooking/meal preparation, etc as long as it doesn’t disturb your loved one.

Let us help you stay healthy and rested while keeping your elderly loved one safe!
