Congratulations, Crystal F., for being our Care Professional of the Month – August 2022!!
As a caregiver, Crystal always provides her clients with high quality, compassionate and consistent care. She is very kind and is often found going above and beyond for others.
Crystal has an amazing ability to get seniors step out of their comfort zones and happily engage in activities that improve their health and wellbeing. She has a keen attention to detail and can handle the most complex care plans effectively. Patience is another one of Crystal’s most admirable qualities. It is a true joy to work with you Crystal and we are very fortunate to have you as apart of our Home Instead team!
Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born in Hong Kong, and it is where I grew up as well.
How long have you worked at Home Instead?
I have been working at Home Instead for about 10 months now.
What’s your favorite part of being a caregiver?
My favorite part of caregiving is to see how clients appreciate the simplest daily tasks we do for them. Sometimes tasks as straightforward as helping with groceries or assisting with a shower could mean the world to them. Seeing the reaction of my clients also reminds me to appreciate the small things in my daily life. Additionally, knowing that my contribution helped my clients to continue thriving within their community, and have a better quality of life, is an important source of satisfaction and inspiration to me.
Any particular stories with a client that you would like to share?
I think one of my favourite things to do is take my client Mrs. V to the hair salon. I love how excited she gets for this particular appointment. Seeing her beaming all the way to the appointment and her content smile once her hair styling is done is something I shall always treasure.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm in my 30s and have moved to Canada by myself about a year ago. Canada has always been an interesting country to me, and I look forward to seeing what it has to offer in the future.
