Care Professional of the Month - August 2023

Written By: Home Instead of Burnaby & South Vancouver
August 2023 Care Pro of the Month Rehana B 1

Congratulations, Rehana B, for being our Caregiver of the Month – August 2023!!

Since starting with the Home Instead Burnaby and South Van team, Rehana has been one of our most consistent carepros. Not only is she extremely professional in her approach to caring for seniors, she is also able to apply her previous work experiences as a registered nurse overseas to assist her clients effectively and with warmth. Rehana’s clients and their families are never short of compliments for her skills and kindness, which creates a happy problem for us because all of them want only her!

Rehana, we truly appreciate the loving and skillful care that you provide to all our elderly clients, and we hope you continue with us in the years to come!

Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born in the Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, India. I was raised in Yavatmal city where I spent my childhood and completed my education up to and including secondary school.

How long have you worked at Home Instead?
I have been working with Home Instead for close to 15 months.

What is your favourite part about being a care pro?
Working as a care pro is a great experience and satisfying activity by itself. What I enjoy the most about my work as a caregiver is knowing that I am able to make an enormous difference in the lives of my clients each day. This is something many young and healthy don’t really think of, but so many seniors around us find it a struggle to complete even the most basic activities of daily living. When I care and support a client I can see how the senior feels appreciated and supported. I also get welcomed to be a part of the life of my senior clients and their families. It is like having so many new families! And there is always the opportunity to gain new experiences and learn new things in caring for my elderly clients.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am Rehana, and I have been in Canada for almost 2 years. My family, that includes my mom, dad, older brother and his wife, and they make up one of the most important parts of my life. After successfully graduating and gaining my nursing license, I practiced as a registered nurse in India for a few years. I am enjoying my life in Canada and eager to see what my new home has in store fore me!

God bless you, Rehana!
