Cyanna is an absolute trooper when it comes to being a care pro. Her skills in handling complex care tasks with diligence and compassion are remarkable, which endears her to all her clients. Cyanna’s easy-going attitude and the creativity in her work efforts set her apart. It’s a joy to see her work with her clients, smoothly managing even the trickiest situations.

Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Hong Kong.
How long have you worked at Home Instead?
I have been working with Home Instead for over a year.
What is your favourite part about being a care pro?
My favorite part is working with my senior clients and helping them deal with their daily challenges, especially those dealing with dementia. I have a client who I learnt really loved pineapple but was not having it anymore because she could not cut it, as she had shaky hands and declining memory. One day I bought a pineapple for her and cut it in for her talking her through what I was doing. I still remember her priceless expression seated beside me, watching me cut up the pineapple with complete attention. I felt so happy noticing the fascination and delighted expression on my senior client’s face. I thought she is so nice and has so much life experience. Sometimes there’s a large age gap between the client and care pro, but there’s no age limit for learning. We still can learn and share experiences with each other, and I always learn something new every day as I care and support my senior clients in their own homes!
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am Cyanna from Hong Kong, and I like to think I am forever 21! I am very passionate about sport. I enjoy playing badminton, tennis and I love swimming. Travelling is my passion but I have mostly travelled across Asia, and I hope to expand my travelling experiences over here in Canada. I really enjoy working for Home Instead, the Home Instead Office staff has always been supportive. I have amazing seniors who I serve as my clients and their satisfaction of caring for them is the real bonus in my work as a caregiver!
