CARP (Canadian Association of Retired Persons), a Non-Profit Association, has been Promoting Financial Security & Better Access To Health Care since 1985.
Currently they are campaigning for increased support for people to age at home rather than in long-term care facilities. The Chief Policy Officer for CARP, Bill Van Gorder, highlights the importance of well-funded and utilized home and community care services in the healthcare system. He emphasizes that families often struggle to support their loved ones who wish to stay in their homes or communities.
CARP suggests that investing in home and community care can be a cost-effective alternative to long-term care facilities. They urge the government to improve access to respite care, increase the available home care hours, and make better use of telehealth care. Additionally, CARP calls for tax incentives to support family-funded caregiving.
The campaign is running on 740 AM and Classical 96.3 FM, listen to the spot.
Don't forget to call your MP and ask them for their support.
