Our Caregivers serve seniors one-on-one in their homes in Cobourg and Port Hope, Ontario, and the surrounding area! They provide Companionship, Home Helper and Personal Care support to keep seniors comfortable and maintain their independence for as long as possible. Our care model allows you to build meaningful relationships as you support seniors with their daily mobility, housekeeping, nutrition and hygiene needs. Many of our clients actively live with dementia and similar cognitive impairment needs.
Tasks of our Care Team include:
- Building a relationship with a senior through conversation and meaningful activities
- Planning and preparing quality meals and snacks (experience with meal preparation an asset)
- Light housekeeping work (sweeping, vacuuming, laundry, keeping a home organized and other everyday tasks)
- Providing personal care assistance with ambulation, dressing, bathing, toileting
- Running errands, driving seniors to appointments
- Memory care assistance for our clients living with different levels of dementia
The BEST CANDIDATES for the role possess the following qualities:
- Candidates with care experience in community or retirement settings to seniors are prioritized
- Have a proven ability to treat seniors with dignity and respect
- Exhibits strong communication skills to use with clients and the office staff
- Has an open availability during weekdays and every other weekend
- Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and valid insurance with a reliable car (strongly preferred)
- Can successfully provide a clear police check and driver's abstract
Compensation: $17.50 - $23.00 per hour (Enhancement available for candidates with a PSW certificate)
