April 2022 Care Professional of the Month - Nikki Williams
We are pleased to announce Nikki Williams as the seventh recipient of Home Instead Markham’s CAREGiver of the Month award for April 2022.
Nikki has been employed by our office since November of 2020 and has made a huge impact on our organization. Nikki is a very hard-working individual that always puts others’ needs before her own. She is extremely responsible and respectful when assisting clients. She aims to provide the best care possible and build a relationship with everyone she interacts with. No matter what situation Nikki is faced with she always brings a positive attitude. She has stepped up in numerous situations to cover shifts when we are in a time crunch. All the families Nikki has worked with have said nothing but great things.
Nikki was born and lived in Jamaica until she was 17 years old when she immigrated to Canada. She took an interest in journalism and travel/tourism which eventually led her to go to school to study these topics. Following her studies, she realized she was not fulfilled and went looking for something more long-term. This led her to enter a career as a PSW where she immediately excelled. Her love for the profession led her to look for more job opportunities, which is where she ran into an ad for Home Instead. This marked the beginning of Nikki’s journey with the Home Instead Markham team!
Nikki quickly became a valued member of the Home Instead team. The flexibility of being a caregiver at Home Instead allowed her to spend time with her family while still being able to work the hours she needed. One of Nikki’s favorite parts about working for Home Instead is the support and comfort provided by Jake and Tracy. The constant check-ins and support from Tracy and Jake have allowed Nikki to shine in this career. Currently, Nikki has just returned from a well-deserved birthday celebration in Paris! We are very grateful to have Nikki as a part of our team and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next!
