August 2022 Care Professional of the Month - Japmin Chahal
We are pleased to announce Japmin Chahal as the latest recipient of Home Instead Markham’s Care Professional of the Month award for August 2022.
Japmin joined the Home Instead team in April 2022 and she immediately excelled. She is a very selfless person who continually puts the needs of her clients before herself. With every client Japmin has worked with, she has developed a unique relationship that has left a positive experience for the client.. While Japmin is one of our youngest staff members she is exceptionally mature for her age. Anyone who gets the chance to meet Japmin is very lucky. Japmin is extremely hardworking and has stepped up on numerous occasions to cover shifts.
Japmin was born in Markham and resided here her whole life, but her family originally originates from Punjab in India. She is currently starting her final year of Nursing at George Brown College before she switches over to her 2-year program at Toronto Metropolitan University! Japmin’s main interests are traveling and exploring new cultures globally. Her main goal is to travel the world someday and potentially even become a travel nurse. A fun fact about her is that she started a small business near the beginning of the pandemic where she made and sold chocolate treats.
Japmin decided to work as a Care Professional because it allowed her to gain experience working with a variety of clients and develop her skills as an RN student. She enjoys being a companion to clients and putting a smile on their faces. It truly brings Japmin joy to see the clients happy and chat the day away together.
Her favorite part of working at Home Instead is the friendliness of everyone involved and she really appreciates how everyone in the organization has been extremely welcoming and supportive. Japmin loves that Home Instead provides her with opportunities to build relationships with the clients and their families.
Japmin has worked with numerous clients within her last few months here at Home Instead. In particular, she has had many memorable moments with our client Nella. Japmin thought Nella was such a beautiful soul and an amazing lady to work with. Japmin loved learning countless skills from her time spent with Nella and her family as well including their amazing tomato sauce recipe! Japmin is extremely grateful and glad to have made the relationship she did with Nella, and she will forever be remembered. Congratulations Japmin on this well-deserved award, we are very excited to see what the future brings you!
