Care Professional of the Month – August
We are delighted to announce Nash Hirani as the proud recipient of the Home Instead Markham Care Professional of the Month award for August 2023. Nash's remarkable journey, driven by a deep sense of empathy and a passion for making a positive impact, has touched the hearts of her clients and our entire caregiving community.
Nash's path to caregiving was deeply influenced by a personal tragedy that shaped her perspective on life. In 2013, she faced the heartbreaking loss of her beloved daughter, Iman, to cancer. This profound experience ignited Nash's desire to make a positive change in people's lives, drawing from the lessons of compassion, kindness, patience, empathy, and the intrinsic rewards of caring for others that she had learned during Iman's care. These qualities, acquired through a lifetime of experiences, became the foundation of Nash's newfound purpose.
This experience, though very difficult, led Nash to a career where she found happiness not only through her work but also in the smiles and well-being of those she cares for. After making the transition to the caregiving field and working in Quebec, Nash relocated to Ontario and joined the Home Instead family. Here, she encountered a wonderful group of hardworking individuals whose dedication and support were a constant source of inspiration. Nash's enthusiasm for her work and her genuine care for her clients are evident in the little extras she does to brighten their days.
Nash understands that it's the small, thoughtful gestures that can make a significant difference in the lives of her clients. She goes above and beyond to cater to their unique preferences and needs. For example, when one client expressed a fondness for pureed papaya, Nash made sure to bring it for them. Another client appreciates a gentle face massage with moisturizer after shaving, a simple act that she takes great pride in. A final example of this is how Nash always makes sure to add a dash of salt to the sliced tomatoes for a client who believes this makes or breaks the food.
If you’ve met Nash, you would know that her vibrant personality shines beyond her caregiving role. She is a true extrovert who embraces life and finds joy in the little things. As a devoted bookworm, she believes that knowledge is power and a gift to be shared. Nash's passion for food is evident as she describes herself as a foodie who can whip up a culinary storm in the kitchen. She is also a melomaniac, a lover of music, who enjoys attending concerts and experiencing the magic of live performances. Nash's adventurous spirit extends to her role as a globetrotter, where she explores new places and cultures, always eager to learn and grow.
Nash’s journey is a testament to the power of compassion, resilience, and the ability to find joy in caring for others. Her unwavering dedication to her clients and her commitment to going the extra mile in making their days brighter exemplify the values we hold dear at Home Instead.
