We are excited to announce Wilhilma Quinoneza as the proud recipient of the Home Instead Markham Care Professional of the Month Award for December 2023. Wilhilma's story is one of dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her clients, reflecting the values at the core of our caregiving community.
Known affectionately as Mimay by her family and close friends, Wilhilma was born and raised in the Philippines. Now residing in Canada, she brings a unique warmth to her caregiving role, creating a comforting environment for her clients. Her expertise and meticulous care earn praise from both clients and their families. Wilhilma's journey took her from being a teacher in the Philippines to working as a caregiver in Israel in 2012. Seeking a brighter future for her family, she successfully relocated to Canada in 2018 and in early 2023 after a 12-year separation, her family was able to finally join her here. Beyond her caregiving role, Wilhilma finds joy in nature, animals, music, reading, cooking, and documentaries.
Initially drawn to caregiving for practical reasons, Wilhilma's perspective evolved, transforming her profession into a heartfelt passion. In honor of her late grandmother, who lived to the remarkable age of 101, Wilhilma sees reflections of her beloved grandmother in every client she cares for. This personal connection infuses her caregiving with a profound sense of love and respect.
Wilhilma cherishes her time with Home Instead due to the exceptional support provided from the owners and the entire team. The flexibility of schedules and hours align seamlessly with Wilhilma's needs, allowing her to flourish in her caregiving role.
